Evelyne took over the family estate, Domaine du Closel, from her mother, Michèle Bazin de Jessey. Her energy and enthusiasm were infectious. She dedicated herself to revitalizing a vineyard with origins dating back to the 15th century. Under her leadership, the estate transitioned to organic farming and later to biodynamic practices. By 2015, she achieved biodynamic certification, showcasing her commitment to sustainable agriculture. Evelyne believed in the importance of biodiversity. She initiated agroforestry programs to enhance the vineyard’s ecosystem. Her passion for the Chenin grape, the king of Anjou, was evident in her work.
